UPDATE: Kwankwaso’s Convoy Attacked In Kano, Many Feared Dead

The convoy of a former governor of Kano State and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been attacked  in Kofa village in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano

10 persons,mostly women were injured, while 16 vehicles were destroyed.But Kwankwaso was  safe.

Mr Kwankwaso had planned his final rally alongside the PDP governorship candidate, Abba Yusuf, to be held at Kiru and Bebeji on Thursday but the long motorcade of the party leader was denied passage through Kofa village.

Sources said the clash occurred when thugs allegedly loyal to a member representing Kiru/Bebeji Constituency, Abdulmumin Jibrin, barricaded the road, resulting in bloody clash.

The commissioner of police in the state “Mohammed Wakili,” said he had depolyed his men in the area to avoid further breakdown or  hurts in the residence.
