The chairman of the electoral commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday formally announced the postponement of the general elections.
The postponement means the presidential and National Assembly elections earlier scheduled on February 16 will now hold on February 23. The governorship and state assemblies elections initially scheduled for March 2 will now hold on March 9.

The Logistics challenges initial about postponement of the election was not clear early , it occurs that the formal announcement expected on Friday night came early in the morning on Saturday as 2:40a.m
Many states were reported that ballot papers and result sheets for presidential and senatorial election were not in there various states, Like Ekiti State as at 9 p.m on friday, According to his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, Mr Fayose said similar situations already reported in Oyo, Taraba, Edo, Niger, Ogun, Rivers and other states.
